    hi lucky patsy's mom, yes this is very easy. the center block size i used was 6 1/2 inches. the book i found it in is quite unique. she utilizes giant blocks so it only takes about 4 blocks to make a quilt. some of the quilts in the book are only one giant block. but i decided to make more of the smaller sized blocks because i didn't want to have to fill all that space with quilting. lol.
    you can make the center square any size you want just like a log cabin. i have sort of made a hobby of discovering different ways to use the log cabin method and this was a new one for me.
    try it. after the first one you will definitely have the hang of it. good luck.
