This story really tickled me pink with a cliff hanger at the end. Clever storyteller I would say. LOL...
You are a really talented, imaginative quilter. I truly Love the second one if it needs a home after it leaves. I will fill out the adoption papers right now!

The Nine hearts just kind of evolved ... like a lot of what I do, and why I am often scrambling with not enough fabric. The good thing is that all these came from my stash, and I only have to go and buy the backing for the Nine Hearts!
................now you have me remembering the Cabbage Patch adoptions!
I never could understand how anyone thought those things were even remotely cute!)

Beautiful and a bit sad story, but your quilt is wonderful. When I was younger, I lived across the street from an orphanage all enclosed by chain link fencing. Often I would go and stand at the fence and wave and talk to some of the children on the other side then go home and ask my mom if we could take some of the kids home because they did not have a mom or dad. I felt so sad for the kids.
