Default Community Quilt from Jelly Rolls

Here is an example of a jelly roll quilt I made from a book by Nicky and Lynn Prescott entitled"Jelly Roll Quilts" copyrighted 2000. The quilt was donated to our community quilt program and was displayed at our local guild quilt show just prior to being donated.

I love the flexibility of the jelly roll quilts and have a couple more in the stash as we speak. I meant to post this photo when the blog first started, but time got away from me! Enjoy!

It's not quite a Log Cabin block. the strips are all 6 1/2 X 2 1/2 and 10 1/2 X 2 1/2 and the 3 blocks in the middle are 2 1/2 inches square each. to make a 10 inc block.

Love those colors and the sampler blocks are unusual, especially since they're all jellies.

I am on a fabric diet so I make my own Jelly Rolls. I used up most of my Christmas fabric making thses two quilts. The Jelly Roll Race quilt is shown on my son and Daughter-in-law's couch and the the second quilt is the Hoppin and Rollin Quilt.

I just bought a jelly roll for a new baby. I like this design. I may try it with the 2nd strip being a tonal pastel.
