Thank you ... that might just work for the Scout quilt I've been saving fabrics for .. there are a couple of fabrics with quite large motifs, pictures of animals like beer, moose and eagles ... and then several other fabrics with very small motifs like knots, flames, scout fleur-de-lys, etc. I have been wondering what sort of pattern I could use to pull them together, knowing that I wanted plain background fabric between all the different patterned fabrics ...
