Just a suggestion: You can sew the borders to each other first, then you only have to handle the body of the quilt once when you sew the completed borders to it. In this case, it is usually recommended to use mitered corners for a properly finished look, if you feel up to doing that.

I can't seem to finish reading the rest of my board topics because I keep coming back to this stunning quilt. I showed it to my son and he even said several times that it was very pretty. I was wondering, how a narrow border of white and then one of your favorite colors for the second border or a narrow border of your favorite color and then the white as the last border with beautiful quilting to add to this gorgeous quilt. Which ever way you decide to finish it, you have a winner on your hands.

I would sew my borders together then put them on, that way you only have to wrestle it once, you would have to miter them but that looks very nice anyway and would fit since you have all the 45s anyway

I would be tempted to try 2 white borders (one narrower than the other) with a narrow colored border between. I would probably wait to see how that looked before selecting binding. Please be sure to post when done.
That is what I would do too. Because I am partial to red, that is the color I would audition first.
For binding, I think white would be perfect. It would just be an extension of your outer white boarder. You have so much going on now, simplicity would be the best frame for your beautiful quilt top.

I love your gradation of color - spectacular! Don't hire it out - you have done such a wonderful job and such a beautiful quilt. Give yourself a break and then go back and decide on the borders. So gorgeous!
