Just Discovered Inchie Quilts--So Fun
My first completed Inchies Quilt.
Wall quilt of tan linen look fabric quilted in straight line horizontally w ad red batik back and binding. It measures about 6-1/2 x 8 with nine inchie quilts attached.
The little inchie quilts measure 1 1/4 x 1-1/2 in which were made with homespun plaid and checks, and cotton prints. They are sandwiched with lining and batting and quilted, then decorated with beads, button and thread and the outer edges finished with a close satin stitch with variegated thread.
This was made for my niece for Christmas.

2nd Inchie Quilt
Don't know what I will do with this inchie quilt. It was made with a batik front and backing and binding in a homespun plaid, (strange combination). stranger yet is, it is quilted with wavy lines on the diagonal using jeans thread. A few seed beads were scattered on the face of the quilt.
To make the nine inchie quilts I used a 2 in, strip of very unusual print fabric I had used in a quilt years ago to get several different looks for each. They were sandwiched with batting and backing, quilted and edged with satin stitch with the jeans thread and accented with beads.

Learn something new every day! Cute quilts, thanks for the photos. Did a little search and see they're not a new technique to others...just to me. http://www.with-heart-and-hands.com/...ke-inchie.html
