I haven't done a square in a square yet. I break those down into half-square triangles. I'm getting pretty good at those. I used to chop all my points off. Now, I make them a little bigger and trim down to the right size. Before, they were sometimes a little bigger, but I didn't trim them, so the points would get chopped off somewhere in the designs. I work a lot with 3.5 and 4.5 " squares. So I got square rulers that size so I can just trim around the ruler and it's the right size. If its got a diagonal seam you have to be careful to keep the diagonal on the ruler on that seam. That block might also be a good candidate for paper piecing, but I don't know how to do that either :) All I know is, I've made 7 baby quilts using that design, and each one turns out a little better than the last one did. The first one I made like it had very few points..they all got chopped off. LOL.

I think it looks good without another border. I think all the variety's look great... it is crazy how just changing the colors can totally change the look of the quilt. Great jobs ladies!!!
