I use a 18" inch hoop on a floor stand, a Jasmine Easy spinner. It's perfect for be because I need to turn my work for keeping one direction of quilting (towards my body).

My new sit-on lap hoop from laptophoops.com also spins, and it is making quilting circles unbelievably easier! I also quilt towards me. No need to do contortions to quilt! SEW much easier to quilt on one that turns, I can't say it enough.

I love your method of needlemarking. I followed your instruction for the white spaces on a quilt I recently completed and it worked beautifully. It was real nice to not have to worry about a marking pencil being washable or not.
