This is an old pattern called Hearts and Gizzards. I have one started in blue and cream. They are so pretty when made!

The pattern from Golden Thimble is very, very close. The only difference between the old Hearts and Gizzards pattern and the one from Golden Thimble is the curve of the red piece. The Golden Thimble one has a much higher arch. The one that cweezel47 made has a gradual curve. That's why the visual effect changes. It doesn't do that with the higher arch.

Beautiful quilt. Do you have a pattern for it? What is the name of the quilt pattern?

Looks great, I'm glad it kept Malcolm entertained so you and Emily could keep doing "stuff".

My mother did this pattern years ago in assorted left over fabric fromher stash. The pattern in the 50's was called Steeple Chase. Anyone ever heard of this name??
