Beautiful job! I think the way you turned the stripe is just perfect...and I agree, when you get it done and step back I think you will see it in a different way.

I longarm machine quilt his quilts. They are always on publication deadline.

I get word that they will be getting a quilt finished in a month or two, and I save a spot in my queue. When it shows up, they need it back asap. It always needs to be sent someplace, sometimes to London like for Simple Shapes Spectacular Quilts, to be photographed for publication.

I think the purple polda dot is screaming out to be the border. It's hard to tell the size of your blocks, but I'd do about 4 inches.

You gotta be good to quilt for Kaffe, is it stressful?

Jan, they are 9" blocks. I thought about using the dots but they are sooooooooo loud. I was afraid they would overpower the rest of the quilt. Still deciding....

There are hundreds and hundreds of good longarm quilters. I truly feel blessed and lucky to be in this wonderful business.

Quilting for Kaffe and Liza is no more stressful than for any other quiltmaker. I feel the same about every quilt I finish for someone--it's like a sacred trust to have someone give me their precious work. It's a collaborative process that I enjoy.

The only added stress is that I know they are coming but once I get one of Kaffe's quilts, it needs to be out of here really quickly. So I ask for photos before Liza brings me the quilt, so I can make some design decisions ahead of time, mull it over and decide what to do, run my ideas for quilting designs past them before I even have the finished quilt here. It is all about planning.
