In planning for a recent visit to Kansas, I knew I needed some birthday and hostess gifts. Although I've been sewing for 45+ years, I'm still a newbie to quilting. The table runner titled, "Kansas Farmer's Daughter" was a birthday gift for my friend who was "gifting" me her 1910 Singer Red Eye treadle, affectionately named, "Miss Nancy," after my dear friend. (Her husband had traded an outdoor grill for her, and she does not sew). She's a bit rough (Miss Nancy, not my dear friend, Nancy), but her cabinet will restore nicely. There is no real damage to the wood, only the finish. I removed her motor (as she had been electified at one point of her life) and picked up a new belt for her treadle. She will have a "place of honor" in our home. I think she will clean up nicely and I'm anxious to give her a try. The table runner will also have a place of honor.

The sunflower table toppers were hostess gifts for two other families we were visiting during the Kansas trip.

Wow, your table runner and table toppers are terrific!

And I'm glad that Miss Nancy will have a good home. Her decals look pretty.

Thanks so much. And yes, the worst wear is on the base of the machine, otherwise, she looks pretty good. There are a few spot where the vaneer is damaged, but a little wood filler will resolve that.

Your sunflowers are gorgeous and so cheerful and colorful in their respective projects. What a lovely gift of "Miss Nancy" from your friend. You and your friend are truly blessed. Thank you for sharing.
