What a BEAUTIFUL quilt!! I wish all of our returning soldiers could get a Quilt of Valor type quilt, after all many of these guys have been deployed 3 or more times. My son has gone 4!! Patriotism is back in the fore front, so much different that Viet Nam when our soldiers in uniform would come home to be spit on in the airports. My son used to be quite puzzled when people would tell him thanks, since he wasn't around during Viet Nam, his reply is always, "Thank You, but it's my job!" I truly believe that very few of our soldiers are coming home without some form of post traumatic stress. Ed is a Ssgt and has taken it very personal when any of 'his' men have been either injured or killed. I noticed when Ed was home last, he was either snuggled in one of my quilts or afghans. Maybe, some kind of blanket to let them know our arms are always around them? Done with the soapbox--again, what a beautiful quilt!
