    Default layer cake challenge

I'm having a challenge with my sister. The rules are each of the 21 different fabrics in the layer cake had to be used and one other (background) fabric could be added. Here's what I came up with. Didn't know how to "turn the corner" on the border so I just cut it off at the appropriate length. The pattern is from the August 2015 issue of American Patchwork and Quilting, but with my border. While I wait for my batting to arrive I get to stare at it to figure out how to quilt it.

Great quilt. I like the modern type quilts that use traditional blocks.

I remember seeing that pattern in the magazine. You've done a great job! Look forward to see how you decide to quilt it and maybe see your sisters too!
