Quilt is adorable. I rarely use a seam ripper any more maybe only for the little pieces. I have the 28 mm rotary and used it on a repair quilt. Had it taken apart in 5 minutes. Just have to be careful. I just spread the seams a little and barely touched the threads. I had my lint roller nearby to catch as I went. It was a crib size quilt. May not work for some but it works for me.

I considered leaving it as is, but could not stomach the thought of explaining the boo boos to whoever got it. I realized the only way out was to rip out the sashing and border sewing. My lesson was sitting patiently for three evenings, and over ten hours, of picking out what I had sewn in haste. This morning I picked off the lint and starched and pressed. The quilt is sitting on my design wall, my lesson in patience.

I have quite a few of those "patience" quilts. Much better name for my UFO's!

We have ALL been in your shoes with at least one quilt. Just be delighted that it came out so cute. Job well done.

Its a lesson I forget from time to time but it looks fantastic now! My mom always said act in haste repent at leisure. I guess that is still true.

No matter how many years of experience there is always a lesson to be learned. Your quilt is darling and I am sure you are very happy with the quilt now. Thank you so much for sharing.
