I don't think I've posted a picture of the quilt in my avatar. I made square in a square using some fabric with lilacs & butterflies. Then the applique is from Elanor Burns Magic Vine. After it was quilted, I embroidered veins in the leaves. The finishing touch was sewing on bugle beads in the flowers. I just love it and it is mine!

It wasn't needle-turn, but I don't know what it's called. I took a class and the LQS taught this method. You use Templar template material, which is heat-resistant. Cut out your templates. You add the seam allowance to your fabric and using a small paintbrush, apply Magic Sizing to the seam allow. Then fold it onto the template and carefully press, using the side of the iron to fold the fabric edge over onto the template.

Clear as mud?! Thanks for all the comments! I would do the applique stem different if I did it again. But isn't that the case with all our quilts?

Carrie, the bugle beads really make the flowers pop. Enjoy seeing how everyone embelishs their work for the wall hangings.
