Linen used in quilt
There had been a few threads lately about using linen in quilts. I was very hot to try this, and have now completed this project. I posted a close up of a piece of the back, the green is 100% linen. In the piecing, there are several solid colors, all of which are linen, or linen/cotton blend. I bound it with the linen/cotton. I love the weight and the texture.

I'm curious about your seams-- did you use 1/4" seams on the linen fabrics? I used linen for backing a baby quilt last year and loved the weight and softness of the prewashed linen. I sew primarily with linen for clothing, so I know about its tendency to ravel and usually french seam or serge the raw edges for them. I've wondered if quilting across the seams is enough to prevent fraying.

I used about a 3/8 seam, but honestly did not have any problem with ravelling. I'm keeping this one for myself, so I guess I'll find out if it's a problem. I just put together the back of another quilt with gray linen, and this time I used about 1/2 seam, then serged it - so not concerned at all about that one. Now, just to figure out how to quilt it.
I bought the linen fabric to sew clothing, but haven't decided what to make with it yet.
