I have one that my DD gave me from a house she moved into. All it needs is a new cord and some tlc
You have convinced me I need to get it fixed, and the one that belonged to my grandma.
Their names are Thelma and Nellie. Loved your story.
Enjoy your new baby :-D

Green with envy!! Lucky you. Today I found a quilt top done in 4 patches at a little shop where I stopped just by chance. It's at least a twin size and got it for $7.50. Will post pics later.

Nice. Have fun.

I am amazed it did not sell on Ebay. I didn't know that was possible, unless it was priced too high. I got mine on Ebay for $180

Wow! I just saw my first featherweight a couple of weeks ago. I have 2 old singers, a model 66 (1930) and a model 201 (1937). I love them.

But a featherweight!!!! I am drooling!:):)

How exciting for you. I would imagine that her MIL is glad that her beloved machine found such a good home.:)

Awesome! How can that beauty not sell???? You were definitely at the right place at the right time! I have several and am now using the Centennial one and love it! You can date the machine and find all sorts of service and cleaning info and download the manual. Have sew much fun with it :)

Congrats. She's a beauty.
I currently am looking for one on e-bay for my birth year (55) and found a special one. Hope I can be as lucky as you.

How super! When you pick a name for your machine, please share it with us. I name my Bernina 830, she is over 35 years old, Bernie, not too much of a stretch there; the newer Pfaff I named him Jean Luc, after the Star Trek guy. My really old Pfaff is named Aunt Ella, after an aunt who love to make quilts and do needlecraft. Take care of your baby and enjoy!!
