Lucky you! I have been itching to get a featherweight. I started the year off with two machines - my Janome and a treadle machine that the cabinet needs work on. Then I went to the Angels for Animals garage sale & bought two old metal machines in cabinets for $15 each. In Aug my dad brought me my maternal grandmothers machine, and at the end of Aug my cousin brought me my paternal grandmothers machine, both in cabinets. Finally, a couple of weeks ago I was in a thrift shop & found an old portable for $2.50, how could I pass that up?
All except the portable run great!
It's a sickness.

I bought both the book AND the DVD and took my grandmother's Featherweight apart and serviced it myself (not my husband, but ME!). I was so proud of myself, but really, it was just so simple. Didn't take long either and my grandma's machine just purrs! I have my mother's Featherweight, too, but I haven't serviced it yet. Another one of those things on my list of things to do.
