Really cool. How are you going to put it together to hang? Depending on size, I might be concerned with the weight when quilted might pull at the stitches of the blocks when you hang it on the wall. You might want to drape it over something etc.

It is wonderful! Be sure and put a label on the back when you get it done. Something that nice would look good without even finishing it - just get or make a nice hanger for the wall and fold it and hang it the way it is.
Find out what you can about anything about it and put that on the label. Many, many years from now - other members in your family will thank for your time in doing that.

I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to quilt it...maybe I'll leave the batting out and just put on a back to keep it from fraying, and then hang it on the wall, but I'm just not sure yet. It will definitely have a label with lots of information on it...that much I have decided on

I think it's wonderful you see the value in something that was made by your grandmother. I always wonder what the story is when you see a quilt someone found in a thrift and store and it obviously was hand made. I hope my kids don't toss all my quilts when I'm gone.
