I would do the black narrow border first, with either the multicolor with sayings, or the peace, which would go great with the backing as well. Backing I would do in wide strips.

I'm partial to the peace-sign border.

peace, roberta

Black is always one of my favs...and if I were tired of this...I would piece the two pieces together for the back and get it done.
I am so sorry you have had trouble...but made me laugh about the fan...just like my house.
Not fun but hope you can laugh about it now and remember it as a bittersweet memory.

Lori,
I like the third one and bind it with black. I love the pieced top, its lot.

I like choice number one: black with wider multi-coloured border. It looks retro, with less risk of becoming dated to me. For the back, I'd either do giant checkers, or wide strips. And I love your idea of doing concentric rectangles! You are extremely brave!

Like your quilt!! I would do a narrow black border & then the muticolor saying, but make that maye 3x the width of the black one For example : black 2", multicolor 6"
