I love the colors you've used. I'm debating on making this quilt. Is it hard.

It's not hard at all. I would recommend getting the book, as I tend to follow the pictures (rather than the words!  ) and she has lots of pictures. I would recommend that you square off your corners (it's optional), unless you like working with bias edges. I've done it both ways and prefer the squared corners. If you decide to make it and have any problems, just PM me and I'll be more than glad to help you!!

    Dorothy,

You did a great job on all of those Lover's Knots. It is such a good basic pattern that you can make very special with your choice of fabrics. I like it because it goes fast and yet makes such an outstanding quilt.

    You have lucky relatives.

I like the star block the best. Is there a name for it? What size block? I want to try to work it out. Your colors are striking. Terri

My favorite is the Shooting Star. Is the block too thick with the muslin to sew together? What size blocks?

This IS the shooting star block and it measures 12 1/2" - I just eliminated all but the center star fabric and put fabric on the corners so it wouldn't be too plain. You sew your half-square onto the fabric and cut away the rest. That's not muslin, it's a white tone-on-tone fabric. I got the pattern from Quilter's Cache - free.

Her picture finally showed up yesterday for me to see...don't know why it took so long. She's now 6 months old and too much fun. I'm teaching her how to do "raspberries" and to stick her tongue out!! She's a fast learner!! She raspberried her mom!!! lol We believe in taking long naps!
