Me too! It is so much fun watching a quilt come together, especially from the onset. Wow what progress you have made so far.
Thank you for sharing the begining of the quilt with us. I love navy and white together, it has such a classic look to it. I love the white dots on the navy and also love white on white. Please continue to keep us posted on your progress.

cutebuns, i counted across the block and i think that each square piece finishes at 1". i think the blocks are 15". i seem to remember that from the beginning.

are you thinking of doing this with 1/2" finished pieces? you scare me

lookin' good - to quote eleanore burns

question: what size are the sashing strips? did i miss that?

on the 9-patch, is the 3-1/2" the block size or each square within the block?

Sorry, BW, the sashing strips are ***3 1/2 by 15 1/2****, there are 49 of them.
The 9 patches are 3 1/2 in block size.
WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS, CUT UP FABRIC

You have to look at the picture on page 69. There is a mistake in the one pictured there. It is in the second row down, second one in from the left.  I have the same picture in another book of history on American Quilts. And the history book says this pattern is from the late 1800's. also, that the pattern was copyrighted in 1932 and was called
Homespun Pattern # 34. :D :D I have looked at this picture at least 100 times over the years. When I started this quilt, Lacelady ordered the book and she is the one that found it. It is so easy to see, now that I know it's there
