Mickey Running Pride
This is the pattern that I found OurWorkBench most helpful in showing me the diagram that made this possible. It was shown on Pinterest as Miss Cutie Dogs-Blue...have no idea what the actual pattern name is because we could not find it. Fabric is Mickey Running Pride @ Disney for Spring Creative, the stiped border is pieced from Crayola Stripes by Riley Blake, and the balance is either from Walmart, Hobby, Lobby, and JoAnns. A special thank you to OurWorkBench for helping to make some little todder happy. This goes to Project Linus.
The last photo is my quilting set-up and my favorite Minion "BOB" that I hot glued to a metal ice-cream dish for use as a pincushion.

Good thing I keep a notebook with all my quilts these days. Here's what OurWorkBench helped me figure out.
20 large blocks cut @ 6 1/2"
40 dark blocks cut @ 3 1/2"
40 white cut @ 3 1/2"
20 medium cut @ 3 1/2"
Sew 1 dark and 1 white together and add to a side of the block
sew 1 white 1 dark and 1 medium together. Dark fabric must be in the middle space.
Sew this set of 3 to the side of th block
Rotate every other block to form stairsteps.
Both the large block and the dark block must form stairsteps to make this work.
I added borders to enlarge the quilt a bit.
You can check out my photo for placement .
Hope this helps, as we never found the original pattern so just kind of made it up.

Thank you for this! I am making a baby quilt and want to highlight a character fabric. When I first saw the quilt picture, I thought - perfect - but couldn't figure out how to sew it together.

Good pattern choice for your focus fabric (Thanks for the the directions.) and BOB! What can you say about BOB? The pins give him an ever changing hair do and a dish of giggles!) I can imagine him and his little pals running in a herd across your long arm project mumbling and laughing trying to stay away from the needle. Tree-Hee-Hee!
I keep a notebook too and it has been a life saver more than once! Great minds......
