GREAT job!! I just bought that book while I was up at the Snake River/Hell's Canyon. Your version is more like what it's like there....the pinwheels in the middle can represent the WIND we had there!!! WOW! Good job! and that's a job I'm not ready to tackle yet!

I completely forgot that I promised to report back on how I changed the block in this quilt from the one in the book. Sorry about that. If you look at page 51 in the book, it shows the "W Block Patches." I made the patch in the lower left corner gold. I changed all the red blocks to gold, and I made the ring of light blocks red. The only change in construction was that I made a separate 1x1 patch in the upper right, and that was red. (In other words, the patch labeled 'G' was 1" shorter.) I did it because with my layout that red patch blended in better with the other red patches to form the pattern. I did all the design on EQ6. I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my EQ7 - I think it will come today.

Since I did this quilt I've learned to make a better join between the sections that isn't as visible. (Quilt and learn...)
