Both quilts are lovely. I am so happy you have them to remember your mom. She had a great eye for color and was an accomplished quilter. I hope you find the name of the pattern of yours to share. I would love to try and make that myself.

Winding Ways, I'm told it's called. I'd google it for you, but I'm on my blackberry at retreat and exhausted from all that SEWING!! Figured I'd check in and post the name of the quilt pattern though ;)

I was wrong. Just googled Winding Waysan and that's not it. However, google 'yin yang quilt' and you'll find this one, along with a few others.

It really is a gorgeous and good luck making it, if you decide to.

I'm having so much more fun on retreat than I expected... One of my mom's friends from childhood is here (and almost everyone else knew her too... Didn't realize that)! Good memories are being shared, and good memories are being made. How much more can a girl ask for?

Thanks so much! How wonderful to be at a quilting retreat with others that knew your mom and share memories.

I did find the quilt but it doesn't look like it is an available pattern to buy. It looks like it is only offered as a class by the designer Lee Fowler and it looks like she only teaches in the PNW.

I will try contacting her through her website to see if she would sell me pattern and instructions and see if I can't figure it out on my own without her class. Thanks again and so glad you are enjoying the retreat.

Such beautiful quilts and this is a touching story! I am sorry for your loss and think it was so wonderful of your mom to leave you and your brother these quilts.

I'm so sorry about your mom. My mom is 87. I spend time with her anytime I can. I will be lost when she's gone.

I love your quilt. It is gorgeous. Do you by any chance have the pattern?

I have never seen a quilt like the first one. It is beautiful. What is the name of the pattern?

Love these quilts and the color is beautiful. Your mom did a great job. My mom died 10 yrs ago this Jan. and the eight children she leftbehind have enjoyed her quilts too. Sorry to hear of your loss

Your quilts are beautiful and I'm so glad that you have to treasure. My mother is 85 and we've always been close. I'm sad to think of losing her. I feel the same way about my dad who is almost 87.

I'm glad your retreat has been so wonderful and thank you for sharing.
