I do think orange is the way to go for the sashing and I hate to see you have to unsew anything, but I agree that perhaps a lighter orange would showcase your blocks better! The baskets and flowers are precious!!

I like it without the floral border.

I think the orange is perfect. Yellow would be too dull.

Well, had I just seen the above picture, I would have said to go with the orange and I do like it. However, I recall how adorable your baskets and flowers are and I think you lose that with the bright orange sashing. With that said, I don't know what to suggest as an alternative sashing color. Someone else said it - - just audition other colors until you find something that does not over power the baskets and flowers. Try laying a large piece of alternate fabric down and put the flower basket blocks on top of it then try them on another color. Good luck. Whatever you do, it will be fabulous. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.

The bright orange overwhelms the pastel baskets. Perhaps the frame could be a spring green. Can't wait to see what you decide.

For me the Orange is the focal point, that is what draws my attention. If that is not what you want, then a softer color like the yellow would be better, so that the baskets is what your drawn to look at.
Please show us what you decide.

I think I might have just done the cornerstones in the orange and had white for the sashing. I agree that the orange is too powerful and overcomes the lovely baskets. You might audition orher possible choices, including the green that you have in the upper left basket.

It's no waste to change the already cut sashing, as you will surely use it on another project.
