My "new" Pretty Machine
#1
I found her on Craigslist and spent a little of my Christmas money. I think I got a good deal on her. DH doesn't understand the NEED for another machine. (This one makes six-but let's not tell him-Shhh!) I just wanted her because she is so Pretty.
I know she runs but haven't tried sewing with her yet. I think The cord should be replaced - and she needs the little post to hold the thread. And I need a key to the case.
The Singer site says she was made in 1919. It looks like the motor and light have been added. Do you think she might have been a treadle or hand crank first? I don't see a model number. Should there be one somewhere?
She'll need a name......Hmmmm....

Beautiful! It is a computlsion that I share. I don't think that it was meant to be a treadle, it was meant to be a "portable". Those machines are not light! I have one that needs to be rewired, but I have it put away now. It is just for show, now.
