I have been thinking about building the same kind of thing. But I would make it a combo, big enough for sewing and quilting and a place for guests to bunk if they had to. Hmmm. I do have a tool shed about that size, all I would have to do is to move all of the stuff in the shed up to the horse barn (no horses anymore). Really got me thinking.

You should call your new space "Sylvia's Quilt Coop".

That is going to be so nice. How cold does it get where you are in the winter? Couldn't do that in Maine.

Showed the pics to my family and my DD just told my DH "wouldn't you like to give up your little barn and give it to mommy so she could have a place like that lady" DH said, "I'll just build me a bigger one and mommy can have the one we already have" Haha, wishful thinking!

I love your space. It will be so nice when it is all finished.

Not changing the color much...that is the primer. It will be as close as possible to the color of the house. You can see my back door in the last picture. My DS will be doing the electrical, then we will insulate and put up sheetrock. After that, I can paint the inside and put down a floor covering. This will probably take quite awhile. I'll post pictures as we progress. I'm really excited and can hardly wait to get it finished enough to move in!

Well, I live in the south and I am wondering if you will have a window air conditioner or where you may live. I am so happy for you! I would want a quilt barn block on the front, too! You are going to have so much fun in your quilt barn. Delighted for you!!

I'm not sure which I envy more, the sewing shed or the green grass! It's been a long winter up north!

Yes, I will have an air conditioner! I think it will be a 12000 BTU. And I'm trying to find some "safe" electric heaters for the cooler months.

I love the idea of a quilt block on the front (and/or the side facing the road)! I hadn't thought of that!

I googled quilt barn then clicked images. There are so many barns in the north with quilt blocks on the front of the barn. I am slowly working on a wall hanging with quilt blocks on barns. Slow because I mislaid some of the blocks that are made:(
So happy for you and your quilting shed looks fantastic. We have indoor electric heaters we use in rv. We just pick them up at Target or hardware store. We get those that auto cut off if tipped or unlevel for safety.
