So, today was a local, community sale/fundraiser for a charity. I went and it was packed. Under one of the tables was this huge bag of fabric. It was marked "quilter's remnants $1.00" I quickly grabbed it and lugged it around with me. It looked like a bunch of cotton scraps and I was excited. I kept thinking that the bag was heavy and why would it be so heavy if it were full of scraps? I happily handed over my $1 and got home to discover this bag weighed over 20lbs! I weigh 115, so lugging it around for 1/2 hr. made me sore! I began unloading the bag to find a bunch of yard, 1/2 yard and quarter pieces in the center! Gorgeous, LQS fabrics. Many batiks. Lots of strips. I'm floored, speechless and still have 1/2 the bag to go through!
Here's the bag with my dog for scale:>

I can't believe it...I almost feel guilty. Almost! When I was paying my dollar the woman asked me, "Are you really going to make a quilt with all this?" When I answered yes, she said, "REally??" Like it was really bizarre. So, I guess we quilters are abnormal and quite bizarre to others:>
