oh wow...so glad you made this post....I too purchased the Bow Tucks pattern and as you I also felt I wasted my money once I read over the directions. So I guess I'll just take the plunge and cut up the pieces and take it from there. Thanks so much for sharing...you've encouraged me!!!!

I have made over 15 of these. The instructions sound confusing. I had one spot that I was stopped at but finally the light came on. I haven't made anymore for about 6 yrs now. I got burnt out making them. They are very handy and cute though. You can make so many variations with them. Try putting a fussy cute picture on the pocket. Change all the pattern pieces to using lots of coordinating fabrics. Just have fun.

I went crazy for "Bow Tuck" purses a few years ago. I loved them and landed up with 12 of them. I made them for all the different seasons and occasions. I used them a lot. I finally noticed some wear and tear on them. I'm in the process of making more now. Thanks for sharing yours.

Ah, Bow tucks purses... I loved making them! Yes, at first, it seems convoluted, but, like you say when you take step by step it is a great pattern. I have made many, many purses and this was by far the one everyone loved at first site. If you want you can see some of them by clicking on my past posts.
The music fabric is so cute! No wonder your daughter was thrilled to use it right away.
