Those 10 minute blocks always take me longer than 10 minutes but yours sure make me rethink them and know I should make better color choices and maybe they'd turn out as pretty as yours.

I wished I could give you some words of experience... i used a layer cake that was given to me so I didn't really plan any part of it other than i was going to use the green's for the center... A friend of mine recently made one - she did partial seams on her background blocks to keep her layout as she wanted it, sewed it all together several inches per seam then came back in and put her centers in. I didn't even 'think' about that! Her process did take her more than 10 minutes/block. Do give it another shot and see what happens!

This turned out great!!! Love the quilting as well. I've done one of these 10 minute blocks so far but decided to cut the starting squares to 5". Well, I'm thinking the smaller size made them pretty awkward to manipulate - they were no longer 10 minutes by the end of the quilt I got a bit closer time-wise. Your color choices work very well in these larger blocks.

Love this block. Mine didn't go as fast - did you know if you use directional fabric you have to pay attention to the orientation of the bottom blocks or else they will be upside down? How did you get the other diamonds in there? Love the paisley quilting, too!

Thanks! Yes, I did find that out about directional fabric after the fact lol. I would've done a couple of things different knowing what I know now The other diamonds - after I made the original blocks, i then treated each group of 4 as another 'block' and set the diamonds. Does that make sense?
