OH... :-o :-o I'll put it back together and line up a few to hang over my circuit breaker box in my kitchen. I'm tired of what I have hanging there anyway :wink:

Paper piecing is a type of foundation piecing. You use paper foundations with your block pattern on it, and actually sew your fabric onto the paper pattern's back side, with a small stitch length. It's one way to get really nice, sharp points! You also don't have to worry about straight-of-grain, since the paper acts as a stabilizer. When you're done, then you tear off the paper (which is easier with that tiny stitch) & voila!
It's one of those things that is confusing (to me anyway :wink: ) to read about, but makes sense when you see it done.

is that emily's star? looks great to me. here's my first paper piecing quilt, i'm going to do the emily's star also, hope mine looks as good as yours! and zyx quilts, thanks for the advice on making ur paper piecing patterns, i was wondering how i could do that and ur way will work great - stitchilng it with no thread, that's a wonderful idea.

my first on paper piecing too.

Oh dojo...thanks beautiful! As soon as I get done quilting my big mariners compass quilt, I am going to do a quilt with the PP. I can feel a strong desire to run to my quilt shop for fabric...its a very powerful desire...don't know if I'll be able to withstand it...nope...I can't ...will have to go soon! :wink:

gloria, go to littlefoot.net and they have a lot of paper piecing patterns. that's where i got mine, you can order them on line or call them and order them. i think paper piecing is very easy, i like it a lot.
