Good going! it looks great to me. You are the only one who will notice the tiny mistakes, so don't tell anyone..........and no one but you will ever know. It is the over all effect that counts.....! And, you did a great job, would NEVER know it was a FIRST!!

Your first block looks very good! I'm not the quilt police...there are some out there, but they don't have a license to behave that way. So, if they show up, tell them to take a hike! Because your block is just fine.

Good luck with your second block. Will that be the log cabin?

I think you are being hard on yourself. It is a beautiful block and I LOVE, love, love your fabric choices! Step back and enjoy that lovely block and make some friends for it! You'll be showing off your first quilt in no time... and it will be beautiful! :D

It looks great to me, keep going and don't let fear get in the way, there are plenty of stitch rippers out there. Practice making different blocks and make a sampler out of them, would be pretty
