When my daughter said she wanted red, orange and yellow I thought "yikes, those are all really hot colors that I would never use together!" But I had a ball finding a pattern and selecting the fabrics. It was so fun an almost euphoric sewing that quilt. I think it's because the colors are so cheery. So I learned a lot by being forced to go outside my comfort zone and you should try it too.

Right now I'm working on a pink, black and white quilt. First my 19yr old GD said those were the colors she wanted in her quilt and her BD is April 28th. I found tons of those colors when I was in Hobby Lobby for something else and bought 8 yds. Then I received a picture of my 6 month great niece in a tutu of gorgeous pink tulle and decided to make use some of those fabrics to make her a pretty pink pinwheel quilt and I'm working on that right now.

Next I'm making my 11 yr GD a quilt for her BD Feb 19. She wants blues, brown and beiges and I started cutting that one out.

Next my 10 yr GS wants blues, greens, yellow and maybe some orange and his BD is Mar 21st.

Next my son wants an old fashioned quilt with lots of stitching. For colors he wants beiges, blues and maroon or dark red. I've collected a bunch of used shirts that I think will make the kind of quilt he'll like.

Why do all those BD's have to be so close together???
