Kayla is entering this in the MQX quilt show in New Hampshire. The judging for kids is done solely on the quilting, not the piecing and the binding. The focus is in getting kids starting in quilting. My friend Gayle provided the top for Kayla to quilt.

I bet you are proud as a peacock! I know I would be. She is going to be out-quilting us all before she is ten. That is so wonderful you have taken the time to teach her so early.

What a great job she did! And on the longarm at that!!! Isn't it great teaching the granddaughters to quilt? I started teaching my granddaughter when she was 10 (she's now 12), she loves it. She's made a body pillow, 2 finished quilts, and is working on a twin size now. Bet you're as proud of yours as I am of mine!!! :-)

That is great she's starting so early, I wish I had started her age, instead I'm starting 4 years later! Great job on the quilt.

I LOVE IT!! Seeing our young ones learning this wonderful craft will keep it alive for years to come. She looks so at ease with the machine too.
