    I love the pillows...great thank you gift! I like the method you used for the tulip stem. Sounds very interesting to do!

    I cut the length along the bias so it can bend. Iron in in half, then in half again, but with the cut edges slightly inside the folded edges for the 2nd fold. Fold them wrong sides together the first time. Then when you unfold them once, you line up the fold line with the line where you want it to go. Put the cut edge down against your background. Stitch down the center of the fold. When you are finished, all you need to do is lay the folded edge over the cut edge and sew that down, either by hand or by machine. It makes a really nice narrow stem.
