Thanks for sharing your avatar in a close-up picture. I love Carol Doak's designs and have made several projects from her "50 Stars" book. I'll have to look for this book -- "40 Bright and Bold..." to add to my library.
I haven't made a quilt from her designs, but I have made table runners and wall hangings for my 12" block stand.
