I finished the tying earlier today, sewed on the binding, then spent several hours hand sewing the backside. I am tired!!! I wanted to get it done by this weekend but I ran out of purl cotton and for two days in a row I forgot to stop and get some.

I still need to make a label. I thought I had some iron-on transfer paper and was going to print one but, I can't find it. I'll have to get something for it tomorrow.

What a handsome quilt--very manly! Are the CW reproduction fabrics? Your brother's going to love it!

Thanks everyone. :-) Yes, it is CW repro, a collection called Vicksburg. When I saw it I knew it was perfect for a man's quilt. My brother isn't married though he has a girlfriend. Our GGGrandfather was a soldier in the Civil War and was captured at Vicksburg.

1862 24 Apr. Elias Yarborough, private, Company H, 36th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Tennessee, C.S.A., Whitfield County, Georgia. Captured at Vicksburg, Miss. July 4, 1863.

Do you think that is too much to put on a label about the CW fabric?

I donít think it is too much! Down thru the years information gets lost or miss told. The more facts, the better!

I agree - -the more history, the better. It is interesting how brothers tend to treasure our quilt gifts.
