My Mom sewed a little and I learned some from her. She loved it when I made things for her. I was very close to her and miss her so much. My Dad died when was 12 and it brought my Mom, sister and me very close. I am starting on my curtains this afternoon and can't wait to put them up.

So sorry for your loss, but glad you're going to follow in your mom's footsteps, so to speak. My parents are both gone and I dearly love bringing out all the old decorations from my childhood and decorating my house. Visitors may wonder about my ornaments that no longer shine or my nativity that's 60 years old, but for me, they are precious and a reminder of the blessing of family and wonderful memories. Hope you'll find the same joy as you decorate.

I'm sorry for your loss. Our Mothers are so dear to us. Mine passed two years ago Christmas morning. It's still hard for me to truly enjoy the Christmas spirit again. She was my shopping buddy and best friend. My heart goes out to you. I am hoping to get that kick in the butt this year, but if not, maybe next year. Have to be joyful for the kids and grandkids! May you have the merriest of the Christmas spirit warm your heart. BTW... nice haul!! You go girl!
