I love the soft coloring and design but am wondering about the darker line surrounding each piece. These lines really set the entire top off. Please explain to us how you achieved these darker lines. Just love this look. Thanks.

Beautiful! Very modern looking with those colors. I'm not usually drawn to double wedding ring quilts.

I have the same question as Suz. The dark lines around the melons, etc. really stand out. Beautiful job! Could you explain, and maybe post a photo with a close up of the block?

That is the seam allowance that showed up as as shadow around each block. I love the look but it won't be in the final version, sad to say.

Pretty!! I just bought a Accuquilt Go! And have been contemplating on buying the die for this. I think you just made up my mind. Thanks so much for posting.

So pretty ! I like the way you made the solid rings and melon centers, a different look than the usual patchwork rings.
I made a DWR about 20 years ago when my brother got married ... back then, I cut each piece by templates. I machine pieced but I hand quilted it ... so it took me a LOT longer than 2 wks ... about 6 months as I remember !
I've always intended to make one of my own ... looks like I need to get the AccuQuilt !

I'm confused about the "shadow" thing. Is this a preprinted panel that must be cut apart and then stitched back together? If this is the case, I am not sure I would cut it. The "shadow" adds another dimension which is appealing to me. It really sets off all of the pieces wonderfully.

    Please explain further. Thanks.
