I am a hand stitcher but had a great deal to have it longarmed so I gave it a shot. I love it. I can never have enough red/black and white. Just love them. I wish I could find this pattern again. I cannot remember the name. It was in a quilting mag. Should have kept it out. Anyone knows, let me know. Thank you.

I have a lot of black and white that I haven't known what to do with. Thought of adding a little red to it. Maybe I need to add a LOT of red to it.

NP3 you can add any one color to white and black and it is so nice. I ahve done one with yellows too. Not this pattern. Of course I have plenty of red fabric here. ..snicker....

    Thank you Sadie Mae.

The star blocks look like a pattern that was in a Fons and Porter magazine. Does that sound right to you? I'll look at my old issues to see if I can find it. I love your red and black version, it's so lively and dramatic!

Nice job. It reminds me of one of those Buggy Barn quilts. I think that's what they are called.

Deb, Try Buggy Barn Quilts. I will look through my books of theirs and check. I know they have one similar, that is a lopsided star too. :)

That sounds familiar and I do buggy barn quilts too. Can't believe I did not keep the copy of the pattern with the scraps and journal.

I just finished a quilt for grandson that is finishing high school this year and the other day I ask his 8 year old brother if I made him a quilt what color do you want (he have not seen the other quilt) he said red and black. What to make one for a nephew and ask his mom what color and of course she said red, black and white. so may get tired of red, black and white but I love those colors.
