Terrific first try. Great job! Beautiful colors.
I still need to add borders (and batting, backing, and binding...) but I'm just so pleased with it I had to take a picture and share! This is my first try at bargello, the pattern is of my own devising. It'll be twin size when done - it's to be a Christmas gift for someone whose favorite colors are purple and turquoise.

Yes! Aside from all the cursed pressing of the seams, it really went together pretty quickly, and now that I've discovered the 1/4-inch piecing foot for my machine (after HOW MANY YEARS?!?) my blocks actually line up now. I haven't been telling any of my non-quilting friends how it's made so they all think I pieced every little rectangle individually...I haven't let on the secret so they all think I'm either amazing or insane. ;-)

It's a lovely color combo. I gravitate more towards blacks and reds for myself so it's nice to work with different color schemes. I'm having tons of fun using other people's favorite colors for their quilts, it's like trying on someone else's personality for a few hours at a time.
