Here is my first attempt at a bargello. It sure was fun... Didn't turn out too bad if I say so myself.... Quilter 1234

I think it is wonderful! I just love the motion in a bargello. And the red, white, and blue is really striking! Good job!

I'd say that is a great job..I haven't attempted this type of quilt yet. We have a group of women who make americana/patriotic themed quilts for the American Legion here. They deliver them to the VA hospital once a month and the people there love them! I'll have to show them a pic of this...bet they won't want to attempt it though, especially for a give away, but you never know!
    Great Job!

it really wasn't that hard. The pattern is in the "Easy Quilts" magazine by Fons and Porter. The trip is to label and follow the chart..... I want to make it again in another theme. Quilter 1234

dear ceannastahr, Really it is simple. If you have any quilting skills at all the magazine article is pretty self explanatory.... It was in Fons and Porters "Easy Quilts" magazine.... I'd save the money for fabric... Thanks for the kind words... Quilter 1234 :D :x

I saw them do that on Fons & Porter and one of them said she had trouble doing it when she tried it at home. I don't think I can be that orgainized. Good for you! I looks great!

Wow! I love the concept of using those patriotic fabrics like that - I would never have thought of it, but want to do something similar now! Was there as specific pattern that you used?

Wow, that is beautiful, and is what I am planning on making for my nephew for a wedding gift. Only they like the older americana look, so I have been busy tea dying my fabrics.
You did a fabulous job, have you been quilting long?
    Happy quilting, Joyce
