I thought I would show you the very first quilts I've ever made.

The first one (pink) I must have started about 25 years ago and was making it to fit a waterbed we had at the time. Got rid of the bed and the quilt got put away (I don't really know why) and I dragged it out last year and finished it.

After I finished the pink one last year I then I made a lap quilt each for my hubby and me. They are both the same except where this one has orange trim and squares, the other has green.

After the lap quilts I've made a queenquilt, which I've already posted here before, and I'm now in the process of doing a crazy type quilt, which I will post when finished :)

Wow what great first quilts! I really like the second one with the orange squares in the border. Something about that pattern "speaks" to me.

The truth is, I was only planning to do the centre squares and then a border but then realised it was going to be too small and instead of making more blocks I decided to add a contrasting colour. I'm glad I did..I think it needed the lift :)
