    My first quilt

I started my quilting after Thanksgiving and after I finished the binding, realized I still need to quilt one corner, so this is almost finished. I machine pieced and hand quilted the blocks with an 18 inch quilting hoop (which I had too taunt!) and machine quilted the border.
I have learned a lot from reading your posts, so on my next quilt, I will square the blocks, cut the borders correctly if I decide to miter them (I had to add small rectangles where I shorted the corners!) and press more carefully. I had intended to use this as a table top, but will use it as a lap quilt. it measures 50 x 45.
I am a perfectionist, and my quilt is not perfect, and I still love it. However, I am a little gun shy about starting my next quilt. Finding time is also a challenge!

You did a great job! Don't forget to put your label somewhere. I still have my first quilt, small wall hanging. Cut the pieces out with scissors

I really like your fabric choices. I like plaids and flowers together. Wonderful job for your first quilt. I can't believe you hand quilted it too. Great job.

Very nice, remember no one is perfect. Did you design the pattern? If not would you share the name of the pattern? Tinker

You did a great job. On your next quilt, keep it simple and maybe you can try something new to you. Make a table runner or something small and build up your confidence.

It is an uneven 9 patch block which is rotated. I found it in Quilter's World Dec 2012. It was called Snowdrift and done in blue, gray, and white. I left off the appliqués in the corners.

You should feel very proud of your first quilt. We learn with each one we make - it doesn't matter how many we make, we still learn something.
