Every start is a little rough. Your quilt is beautiful. Don't be so hard on yourself.

No one would know that was your first if you didn't tell them... it's great! My first and second and third quilts were simple panels I 'birthed' and then added a couple of lines of quilting to-- for my three little children. They still cherish them although they are in tatters and the kids are now in their late 20's, just because Mom made them for them.

This was my 1st quilt ever. 2006-7 ish

I was so proud of those HST's and Pinwheels! Had no idea about proportion at the time obviously, but I did it and I was proud! and you should be too! your quilt is beautiful and I am impressed with your FMQ. You are very brave!

I agree with the others. Don't be so hard on yourself. Your quilt is lovely and looks lots better than my first quilt did back in 1986. More importantly, I am sure it brought your brother in law great comfort. That's what counts! Well done.
