I finally finished last night. Have discovered that my least favorite part of the entire process is doing the binding...especially when I have to do it in a rush, crammed into a few days. Maybe it's not so bad if it's spread out over time, or so I'm hoping...

You may have seen an earlier picture of this quilt on my machine quilting frame -- it's a Christmas present for my mother-in-law. I loved making this so much -- can't wait to do more!

Wow if that is your FIRST quilt I think there is only beauty ahead of you and those you gift them with. A very lovely gift. I personally love making tops, not making quilts. Unfortunately its part of the whole package. When your done however its.. not that bad at all. :)

My first quilt ever...which I quilted on my frame for the first time, too ;)

Thanks everyone for being so kind. I've been bouncing around for the past day or so saying, "I made a quilt!" I've never made anything...real and solid before, like this. Something I can show off and be proud of. It's rather exciting.

I gave it to my mother-in-law yesterday. She cried. She loved the quilt, and was so happy to get my first one.

You did a wonderful job on that quilt. Lucky MIL indeed.
Are you the kind of quilter who works on one project at a time? If so, I envy you ...almost.
