My first quilt that I made is now hanging on my wall...I also made a second one out of scrap material I had and also some that a friend gave me. I made that one to practice and to try machine stitching. My husband loves it...he can use it without being extra careful...it did come out really nice but with the cats glad I only paid about 10.00 to make it. You can view both of my quilt on Thriftyideastoday.com - No ads on this site...I just do it for fun.

You can not see them in this picture but their are little silver circles on the squares. These were not the materials that I had picked for this quilt...I bought a bunch of materials. The woman at the store when I showed her what I needed said...oh you just need fat squares...so I did...my friend came over and said you can't use fat quarter, not enough materials. So I found two king size bed pillows, some left over white material that I had used on a different projects. the Red roses material she gave me and I have the green flower material for a future project. - So my first quilt was a last minute run around that house what do I have for material quilt.

just goes to show that you don't have to follow a pattern to get a good result. Great job.
