    My first rag quilt

I read about rag quilts here and the idea interested me.
I completed my first one for my daughter today.
It is made of flannel and has a denim back. It is a queen size.
I just got back from the laundromat a little while ago with it.
It wasn't completely dry so I finished drying it in my dryer at home.
All that's left to do is print out a label and sew it on.
This will be part of her Christmas this year.
    I named it playful dreams.

Thanks! I was happy with how it turned out.
The flannel was a new set of sheets i found at a goodwill store one day. My daughter loves cats, so
she should be quite happy with it.
I didn't add any batting because i read denim quilts are heavy.
This one is heavy when wet, but not unmanageable. Just like handling a large comforter.
I am planning one for my granddaughter next.

I have done three jean rag quilts, but they were only large lab/twin. I applaud you doing a queen.....HEAVY!!!

Great rag quilt! Wow, queen sized is a lot of clipping. I did one that was a large lap size and my hands hurt from that.

    Thanks!
I bought a pair of the
Fiskars Spring Action Rag Quilter Snips and they really helped.
I only did a row or two at a time, so it wasn't to bad.

Nicely done. You can make all sorts of quilting shapes such as HST. Great that you got it done before the holidays.

Thanks, so much for all the kind words.
These are so much fun to make, I think i am addicted to them now. LOL
I'm cutting blocks to make my granddaughter one now.
Her quilt will have a nature theme to it.
I'm already thinking a scrappy one after that. haha
