I was taught how to do needle-turn appliqué using freezer paper way back in 1989 when I took my first year-long Baltimore appliqué class. And that’s pretty much the only way I still do it - I love it!!!! You did a beautiful job and for your first try, too. A small block can be a real challenge so I’m glad you decided to make a bigger (and I do mean bigger) block. Personally, I think needle-turn appliqué is totally addictive. Hope you keep in liking/loving to do it.

Splendid work. You definitely got past the mental block stage. Beautifully done and I look forward to seeing the finished quilt.

OMG, if that is your first block, I can't imagine where your going to go from here. Amazing. Isn't it fun to learn a new technique and get past the challenges and accomplish it. Great job!!

Beautiful work! On your turned edge appliqué will you stitch it down by hand or machine?

Thank you! It has already been stitched down by machine. I can't do alot of hand sewing anymore because I'm old.

Such talent! this block is so beautiful and you did a fantastic job!! Your recreation of the block from you old bedspread shows just how talented you are. In more that 30 years of quilting I would never be able to do what you have done. Congratulations of your finished applique.
